Vivian June Curtis, 88, Glen Park passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Vivian was born in the town of Leray April 24, 1936, daughter of Perley and Helen (Porter) Hatch and she was a graduate of Evans Mills High School. On October 29, 1955 she married Richard F. Curtis at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Benoit C. Dostie, MSC officiating.
Before her marriage she worked for Faichney Instruments and Watertown National Bank. Vivian was a former communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville, former member of its Altar Rosary Society, and was a Eucharist Minister. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary in Brownville. She had organized and ran the Brownville Co-op for many years. She enjoyed crocheting for charity organizations. After retirement she and Richard enjoyed each other and wintering in Travares, FL.
Along with Richard, Vivian is survived by five children, Debra A. McIntyre and husband Randy L., Glen Park, Richard J. Curtis and wife Diane, Watertown, Nancy L. Curtis, Findlay, OH, Mary J. Raskie and husband Al, FL, and Susan M. Norstrud and husband Michael, Watertown; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Hatch LaFontaine, Watertown and Linda Hatch Friedrich and husband Gervin, Calcium; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; brother Robert "Cy" Hatch; and sister Eleanor Hatch Miller.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Thursday, August 1, from 4 - 7 pm. Her funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, August 2, at 10 am followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Vivian's name may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
