Truman Wilder Obituary

   Truman James Wilder, 90, Summerville, SC and formerly of Watertown died October 23, 2023.

   He was born in Watertown January 30, 1933, son of Kenneth and Beatrice (Fisher) Wilder. He attended Boon Street School and attanded Watertown High School. 

   Truman entered the US Air Force on September 7, 1950. He attended Air Police training school in Germany and received the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged as an Airman 2nd Class on December 3, 1953.

   While stationed at Bentwaters Air Force Base in England, he met the love of his life. He married Pamela Freda New on August 22, 1953 in Ipswich Suffolk, England and she died August 30, 2021.

   Truman retired as a truck driver for Youngs Express after 30 years of service to the company. He enjoyed traveling and bowling.

   He is survived by his son, Truman J. Wilder II, Rochester; three daughters, Trudy A. Bloom (Robert), Summerville, SC, Michele L. Rowland (Bill), Calcium, and Denise M. Belile (David), Massena; five grandchildren, Danielle Santamore, Christopher and Joshua (Savannah) Belile, and Austin and Alexis (Brett) Wilder; great grandson Hudson Belile; brother Ronald Wilder (Joan), Watertown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents and wife, Truman was predeceased by brother, Vernon (Betty) Wilder, and two sisters, Norma (Vernon) Phillips and Delores Rogers.

   A graveside service for both Truman and Pamela will be held in North Watertown Cemetery on Wednesday, August 28, at 1:00 PM. Local arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc. and online condolences to their family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
