Timothy J. Cantwell, 63, of Clayton passed on May 22nd at his home. Tim was born the son of James B. and Roselyn C. (Green) Cantwell in Alexandria Bay, NY. He graduated from Thousands Islands High School in 1982. Tim loved the Clayton Community, and was proud to be a T.I. alumni and was always following how the TI sports teams were doing - Tim was "always a Viking".
Tim married Bethany D. Nier on October 10, 2003, in Depauville, NY. He was employed by Gray's Wholesale, Clayton, for many years as a salesman and in delivery. Then working at JRC, currently ARC as a Job Coach. For the last 7 years he was again a Job Coach for DPAO, Watertown, NY.
A former member of St. Mary's Church; a longtime active member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department; Clayton Colon Couch Post-821 Sons of The American Legion. Tim enjoyed socializing with friends, playing darts, cards, and corn hole. an avid follower of the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and SU sports. Time with his family whether camping (especially at Bedford Creek), and attending his children's sporting events and school activities were so important to him.
Tim is survived by his wife, Bethany D., their children, Elizabeth and Aidan J. Cantwell, both at home; step mother, Linda Cantwell, Clayton; mother in law, Diane Nier, Sackets Harbor; brother Terry R. Cantwell, Clayton; step sister Beth Reed; step brother Fred Angus, Jr.; nieces, nephews and cousins. Additionally his wife's 2 sisters and 3 brothers survive him. Tim was predeceased by his parents and his father in law, Ronald Nier.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family at a time and place to be announced. He will be buried at Glenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton. Online condolences may be shared at www.cummingsfuneral.com
