Robert G. Osier, 90, Clayton and formerly of Watertown passed away Tuesday morning, March 4, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Bob was born in Watertown April 9, 1934, son of Charles B. and Helen L. (Keruskie) Osier. He graduated from Watertown High School in January 1952 and attended JCC and Canton ATI. A marriage to Kathleen Zapf ended in divorce. He spent 37 wonderful years with his longtime companion Joan A. McClusky before her death on October 7, 2016.
He served in the US Army actively from October 11, 1954 to October 10, 1956 and was honorably discharged from the Reserves in 1962. He retired as a Soils Engineer from NYS Dept. of Transportation after 32 years of service to the State.
Bob was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 673, Black River for over 50 years and was also a member of Elks Lodge 496, Watertown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, and was a founding member of the 10 Point Hunting Club.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Walter C. Osier and wife Patricia "Patty", Eaton and Troy Osier and companion Kristi, Clayton; daughter-in-law Tracie Osier and companion Scott Knapp, Henderson; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother Gary Osier and wife Pam, AZ; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his companion's, Joan's, family: six children, William J. McClusky, Leo McClusky, Timothy M. McClusky and wife Mary, James P. McClusky and wife Joanne, Kathleen S. McClusky, and Thomas E. McClusky and wife Mary; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Along with his parents and companion, Joan, Bob was predeceased by son Timothy I. Osier; daughter Lynn Osier; and sister Mary Lou Brotherton.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Friday, March 14, from 5 - 7 PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, March 15, at 9:15 AM followed by his funeral mass at 10 AM at St. Patricks' Church. His committal service will be in Glenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Online condolences to Bob's family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
