Robert I. McCracken, 70, passed away at his home in the town of Watertown Tuesday morning, September 3, 2024.
Robert was born in Watertown May 31, 1954, son of Carl E. and Marion G. (Johnson) McCracken, Sr. and he attended schools in Watertown. He was a machine operator at NY Airbrake. The then retired for health concerns from Ft. Drum where he was a mechanic.
He was a former member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and greatly enjoyed being a mechanic.
He is survived by his brother Carl E. McCracken, Jr., Watertown; sister Ada M. Bartlett, Dexter; five nieces and nephews, Nathan C. Bartlett (who lived with him), John R. McCracken II, and Amanda L., Sarah M., and Matthew C. McCracken; two great nephews and one great niece, Ashton Robert Bartlett, Dawson Dawes, and Dakota McCracken.
Robert was predeceased by his father Carl, April 25, 2003; mother Marion, March 24, 1999; brother John R. McCracken, July 6, 2024; sister-in-law Nancy E. McCracken, May 24, 2020; and brother-in-law Dana L. Bartlett, January 13, 2013.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Monday, September 9, from 6 - 8 PM. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10, at 10 AM followed by burial in Brookside Cemetery.
