R. Gregg Fancher, 68, passed away Tuesday,April 29, 2025, at their home in Watertown, surrounded by love.
Gregg was born in Springville, NY on July 17, 1956, son of Glenn and Marguerite (Dano) Fancher. The family moved to the Cape Vincent area and he attended Thousand Islands High School and received his associates degree in Animal Management from JCC. He served in the US Navy from 1973 - 1975.
On September 27, 1975 he married Ruth A. Cornaire in Cape Vincent.
Gregg was a machinist, working locally for Bomax, Gould's, and NY Airbrake. In 1981 the family moved to Phoenix, AZ where he worked for Precision Grinding and Allied Signal. They moved back to Watertown in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, gaming, reptiles and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Along with his wife, Ruth, Gregg is survived by his three children, Trudy L. Schlienz and husband Thomas, Wickenburg, AZ, Trisa C. Fancher and her companion of 23 years Richard T. Freebern, Fulton, and Gregory J. Fancher, Watertown; four grandsons and one granddaughter, Cody, Donivan, Devon, Kylie, and Mason; three siblings, Rodney and Kenneth Fancher and Lynda Coleman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Timothy.
As per his wishes, a service will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown and online condolences to Gregg's family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
