Philip A. Marra, 92, Watertown passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday afternoon, November 21, 2025, at Hospice of Jefferson County.
Philip was born in Watertown February 23, 1933, son of John and Catherine (Cuzzupoli) Marra. He attended St. Patricks' Elementary School and graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy. On July 27, 1953 he married Yuvon Slate at St. Anthony's Church with Rev. George W. Tobin officiating.
With his father, John, and uncle, Joe, he was a co-owner of Johnnie's Fruit Company, Watertown and Philip retired in 2001. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. He was a member of the Italian American Club and Elks Lodge 496 and the Knights of Columbus Council 259. He enjoyed bowling and was a past president of the American Bowling League. Philip was also a past president of the Dodge Memorial Center on Grindstone Island, where he loved to spend time at his cottage on the island. He coached both basketball and football, especially when his sons and grandsons played.
Along with his wife, Yuvon, Philip is survived by his son John H. Marra and companion Marian Boisvert, Watertown; daughter Debra Marra Donaldson and husband Stephen, Gananoque, Ontario; daughter-in-law Deanna L. Marra and companion John Roberts, Watertown; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; son Jeffery A. Marra, November 2, 2012; and sister Mary Ann Harding, November 12, 2012, and Mary Ann's husband, Jack.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Tuesday, November 25, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. His funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church on Wednesday, November 26, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be on Grindstone Island on Friday, November 28, at 2:00 PM - everyone must make their own arrangements for transportation to the Island.
