Michael F. Knill

Beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Michael F. Knill, 51, passed away June 21, 2014.

One of six children born to Jane and Bruce Knill, Mike lived in Canada as a child and excelled in sports, particularly hockey. As a teenager, he moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 1981 and there made strong, enduring friendships that exist today. Mike earned a B. S. degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona in 1985 where he was active in the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Mike embraced college life as a Fiji.

Mike began his professional career at Arthur Anderson in Phoenix and continued working in the financial field in Southern California.

Mike is the proud father of three amazing children - Alexandra "Allie", Bruce, and Claire - who were the lights of his life. He dedicated many hours to volunteer service at the children's schools and to coaching soccer and baseball. An intensely private man, Mike also had an incredibly playful spirit which he shared with this children, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his father Bruce, siblings Joanna, Fiona, John, Sarah, and Mark, and former wife, Kim. He is remembered with love and admiration by his nieces and nephews: Daniel, Nicole, Andrew, Jessica, Colleen, Jack, Mary Kate, Katy, Emily, Sarah, Jane, Janet, Megan, Diana, Thomas, Katie, Jack, Ashley, Bill, Jodi, Katie, Freddy, Parker and Abby. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jane.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Clayton, NY on July 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.
