Michael Chinn Obituary

Michael S. Chinn, 41, of Richmond, KY, passed away on August 5, 2025.

Born in Syracuse on May 16, 1984, Michael was the beloved son of Sam and Patsy (Frear) Chinn. He graduated from high school and experienced the joys and challenges of marriage, which later ended in divorce.

Michael worked as a factory worker and machine operator for Schroeder Industries in Cumberland, MD. He found joy in playing video games with his children and friends, inventing, fishing, and exploring the art of archery—he had hoped to learn how to hunt with a bow and arrow. His greatest passion, however, was his faith. His relationship with God was the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and inspiring those around him.

Michael is survived by his mother, Patsy Kidwell of Clayton; two sons, Jacob and Andrew Chinn, both of Vermont; maternal grandmother, Linda Mosher, Hannibal; two brothers, Joshua L. Chinn of Richmond, KY, and Andrew J. Chinn and wife Bethany of Cumberland, MD; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A calling hour will be held at River Community Church on Saturday, August 23, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by his funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place in Clayton Cemetery. Local arrangements are entrusted to Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton. Online condolences may be posted to Michael’s family at www.cummingsfuneral.com

Donations in Michael’s name may be made to River Community Church, 38844 Bartlett Point Rd., Clayton, NY 13624.
