Maureen DelBalso Obituary

   Maureen A. DelBalso, Clayton and formerly of Westfield and Cassadaga, passed away Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025, at Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown.

   Maureen was born in Newark, NJ February 17, 1944, daughter of John and Florence (Kissinger) Earley. She was a graduate of Oswego Catholic High School and was in the 1st graduating class at Onondaga Community College. A marriage to Jerry J. DelBalso ended in divorce.

   Maureen retired as a sales person for the Westfield Republican newspaper. She was a former communicant of St. James Major Church, Westfield and was very active in her community. Maureen was a founder of The Westfield farmers market, which is still in existence today. 

   She is survived by her three children, Joseph E. DelBalso, Baltimore, MD, Christine A. (John) Zernick, Shaker Heights, OH, and Patricia M. (Jon M.) Wetterhahn, Clayton; five grandchildren, Kailee Zernick, Michael Wetterhahn, Christopher Wetterhahn, Katherine Zernick, and Natalie Wetterhahn; one great grandson, Xavier Zernick; four siblings, Matthew (Roseann) Earley, Vero Beach, FL, Stephen (Debby) Earley, Cicero, Catherine Smith, Hastings, and Monica (Bob) Alton, Cicero; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maureen was predeceased by her parents; granddaughter Nicole A. Wetterhahn, September 25, 2003; and brother John Earley.

   A graveside service will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clayton on Friday, September 26, at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton and online condolences to Maureen's family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 6050 Court Street Road, Syracuse, NY 13206.
