Mary Jean Robbins, 93, passed away at her home in Watertown Saturday morning, August 3, 2024.
Mary Jean was born in Watertown November 2, 1930, daughter of James W. and Anna (Clifford) Hayden. She was a 1948 graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy and St. Joseph's Conservatory of Music and graduated in 1949 from the Watertown School of Commerce,
On June 9, 1950 she married Keith J. Robbins at Holy Family Church with Msgr. Robert J. McCarthy officiating. Mr. Robbins died May 24, 2016.
Mary Jean was a desk clerk for the Farm Bureau from 1949 - 1951. She retired from Jefferson County Department of Social Services as a Data Entry Operator in October 1990 after serving the county for 20 years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and was involved in church activities. She enjoyed crocheting and vacationing.
Mary Jean is survived by her 2 sons, Mark J. (Barbara) Robbins, Webster and Daniel J. (Eva) Robbins, Naperville, IL; 4 daughters, Anne E. Cox, Adams, Sara J. Daniels, Watertown, Maureen T. (Joseph E.) Dephtereos, Watertown, and Diane M. Abramson, Goffstown, NH; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents and husband, Mary Jean was predeceased by 2 children who died in infancy, Peter M. and Mary C. Robbins and her brother James Patrick Hayden (April 14, 2015).
Her funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Friday, August 9, at 10:00 AM followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery. The family is grateful for the loving care provided by her caregivers, who treated Mary Jean as a friend and family.
