Marion C. Branche, 106, of Watertown, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at Samaritan Keep Home where she had been a resident for seven years.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 11AM at North Watertown Cemetery with Rev. Walter Giles officiating. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. Mrs. Branche was born in Wanakena on January 1, 1907, daughter of Guy and Jane Benson Cyener. She graduated from Canandaigua High School and had attended the Rochester School of Fine Arts. On April 5, 1926 she married Elgin A. Branche in the Trinity Chapel, Watertown with Dr. Francis Eason officiating. Mr. Branche died October 22, 1968. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She volunteered at the House of the Good Samaritan and in its gift shop, and also for the Jefferson County Historical Society in its Collector's Corner. Marion was an avid Bridge player and gardener, was fond of and collected antiques, and loved the St. Lawrence River. She is survived by her two daughters, Jan B. Oliver and husband, Vincent R., Dexter and Gail B. Pfister, Watertown; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandson; and several cousins. Her son-in-law, Maurice A. Pfister, her great grandson, Brett W. Robbins, and her brother, John M. Cyener, died before her.
