Louise Anne Calhoun, 78, Clayton, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca.
Anne was born in Watertown September 1, 1946, daughter of James M. and Margaret (Casselman) Stage and she attended Clayton schools. A marriage to Donald L. Lingenfelter ended in divorce. She then married Leslie A. Calhoun and he died July 5, 1996.
She worked for a short time at McCormick's and the Victorian as a waitress and then for the town of Clayton as a municipal dock hand and crosswalk monitor. Anne was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was a member of the American Legion Colon-Couch Post 821 Auxiliary. Her times with her family and friends, especially her "porch parties" and with her dog, Jess, were her favorite things to do.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeremy D. (Colleen R.) Lingenfelter, Clayton and James M. Lingenfelter, Sanford, FL; four grandchildren, Ernest, Nolan, Nathan, and Paige Lingenfelter; two brothers, Andrew J. Stage, PA and Alan G. (Debbie) Stage, Rochester; two sisters, Mary E. (Edward) Burke, Watertown and Clayton and Martha (Frank) Malone, Rochester; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her husband and parents, Anne was predeceased by her brother James Stage and son Joseph A. Calhoun, August 16, 2018.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 18, from 5 - 7 PM at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery.
