Leslie E. Drake, 74, Clayton passed away peacefully at his home in Clayton on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Les was born in Watertown March 27, 1951, son of Richard Leslie and Madeline E. (Robinson) Drake. He was a graduate of Indian River High School and attended JCC. On June 28, 1974 he married Lou Anne Badour at St. Mary's Church, Clayton with Rev. Euclid Marier officiating. Lou Anne died May 11, 2019.
He worked for Frink SnoPlow for 23 years, leaving as an assistant plant manager. Les then became the service manager at Chalk's Marina and Boat Sales and retired after 20 years of service to the company.
Les was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, TI Booster Club and TI Sports Booster Club, Clayton ZBA, and was a former member of the Antwerp Drum and Bugle Corp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and boating. He had a love of the St. Lawrence River and the Adirondacks, and spending time at the family camp on Number 4 Rd. in the town of Watson.
Les is survived by his two sons, Richard L. Drake and wife Susan, Wellesley Island and Jason L. Drake, and his wife Tanique, Evans Mills; 8 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three sisters, Candy Dwyer and husband Danny, Theresa, Susan Jenne and husband Bruce, Philadelphia, and Karen Clarke and husband Randy, Philadelphia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his grandson Bentley Drake.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Friday, August 8, from 9 - 11 AM. A prayer service will follow at the funeral home at 11:15 AM with his funeral mass at St. Mary's Church at Noon. His graveside committal service will be in Sandy Hollow Cemetery, Philadelphia at 2 PM. Online condolences to Les' family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
