Kenneth G. Aubin, Sr., 83, Dexter passed away Friday morning, February 13, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Ken was born in Watertown July 28, 1942, son of George and Margaret (Doroha) Aubin. He was a graduate of General Brown High School and received his associates degree from JCC. On December 10, 1960 he married Ann F. Castro at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville and Ann died June 10, 2020.
Following high school he served 3 years as a medic in the navy. Ken then took a job at the NY Airbrake working his way up from the foundry to vice president. He then moved over to Dyna Power Strata Power, leaving there as a production manager. He retired from manufacturing to start his own business, Aubins Well Drilling in Dexter. Also, with his wife, they owned and operated various businesses throughout the years, including Oakies Diner, Lowville and Around the Corner Diner, Watertown.
Ken liked to keep busy. He enjoyed daily walks, summer cookouts with his family and working outdoors, he had a talent for fixing machinery from cars to his drilling rig. When he wasn't fixing something he could be found with a book in his hands, he was a voracious reader and frequented his local library, where they knew him by name.
He is survived by his three children, Tina A. Aubin, Dexter, Kenneth G. Aubin, Jr., Watertown, and Michael S. Aubin, Dexter; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three siblings, Joseph Aubin and wife Cheryl, Natural Bridge, Sally Gilbert, and Shirley Pate, Copenhagen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Along with his parents and wife, Ken was predeceased by his daughter Kim M. Tate, November 3, 2024, and brother James Aubin.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Thursday, February 19, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery will be at his family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's name may be made to the Lyme Free Library, 12165 NYS Rt. 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622.
