Kathryn A. Bennett, 64, Sackets Harbor, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 24, from 11:30AM - 1:30PM at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown followed by the funeral service at 2PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Watertown on February 8, 1949, daughter of Robert J. and Gertrude E. O'Flaherty Ransome. She graduated from Watertown High School. On January 5, 1974 she married James L. Bennett at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Gratto officiating.
She worked briefly for Caregivers of Watertown and then was a homemaker. Kathryn was a former member of Holy Family Church and a current communicant of St. Andrew's Church, Sackets Harbor. She was very active with FEAT of CNY (Families for Effective Autism Treatment of CNY). She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crafts. She was affectionately known as the driver of "Mom's Taxi".
Besides her husband, James, she is survived by her four children, Christine Feisthamel and husband, Robert, Beaufort, SC, Jaci L. Barnett, Sackets Harbor, Robert C. Bennett, Sackets Harbor, and Kellie-Jo Bennett, Watertown; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three siblings, Michael Ransome and wife, Cherie, Lowville, Robin Adams, Watertown, and Peter Ransome, Watertown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
