Kathleen L. Leehy, 94, formerly of Gotham St., Watertown, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Samaritan Keep Home.
Mrs. Leehy was born in Brooklyn on August 3, 1918, daughter of Angelo and Theresa Garamide Lacari and she was educated in Brooklyn schools.
On May 18, 1938 she married James F. Leehy in Nanuet, and the couple moved to the Watertown area in 1971. Mr. Leehy died on October 1, 1972.
She had worked as a practical nurse in Rockland County , New York hospitals. She was a member of the Sisters of the Precious Blood Auxiliary, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, and the Watertown Golf Club. She enjoyed bridge, and volunteering, including the House of the Good Samaritan and was a dedicated volunteer at the Precious Blood Monastery.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Aceti, Watertown; two grandchildren, Michael R. and Elizabeth Aceti, Dover, MA and Susan E. and Jason Koehl, Freeville, NY; two great grandchildren, Christopher and Alexandra Aceti; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her husband, James, and her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and two granddaughters, newborn LeeAnne and baby Lisa Aceti.
