June H. Dodge, 95, of Watertown passed away Friday morning, September 14, 2018, at Samaritan Keep Home where she had resided for over four years.
As per her wishes, there will be no services and arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.
June was born in Cooperstown on June 26, 1923. Her mother was Mary Locke Houghtaling and her stepfather was Dale Houghtaling. She was a graduate of Cooperstown High School and Crouse Irving School of Nursing in Syracuse.
A marriage to Charles Briggs ended in divorce. She married Werner E. "Mike" Dodge in Belleville on July 6, 1959 and he passed May 29, 1983.
June was a registered nurse at the House of the Good Samaritan, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed cooking, reading, watching soap operas and NASCAR, and all farm animals, especially the cats.
She is survived by her two daughters, Charlene Briggs Raymond and husband, Brian, NM and Carol Briggs Sands and husband, Michael, Fitchburg, WI; her son, Jeffrey G. Dodge, Cape Vincent; granddaughter, Jenna Raymond; brother, Vard Houghtaling, N. Augusta, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
