Josephine A. Knapp, 93, 1010 Washington Street, Watertown, passed away early Wednesday morning at Samaritan Medical Center where she had been a patient since August 10th. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday August 30th at 10.00AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Robinson officiating. Burial at Glenwwood Cemetery will be at the convience of the family. There will be no calling hours, with contributions made in her name to St. Anthony's Church 850 Arsenal St., Watertown, N.Y. 13601. Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs.Knapp was born in Watertown on March 12, 1919, the daughter of Michael L. and Mary Castro Capone. She graduated from Watertown High School and married George A. Knapp on May 12, 1945 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lakeland Florida with Rev. John S. Harvey Officiating. Mr. Knapp died on September 14, 1975. She was a homemaker, and had been a communicant of St.Anthony's Church.
She is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Michael J. and Mary B. Knapp of Watertown, and Thomas A. and Lori A. Knapp of Canandaigua; her 3 sisters, Marianne and Robert Dyer of Watetown, Elizabeth Hampson of Dover, Delaware, and Marlene and Gerald Miller of Cortland,N.Y.,a sister in law Suzanne Capone of MA.; 4 grandsons Marcus Knapp, Watertown, Jeffrey Knapp, Clinton,N.Y., Andrew Knapp, New Jersey, and David Knapp, Rochester; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous neices, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her daughter Judith Ann Knapp who died on Sept. 27, 1968, her brother Myron Capone and her 2 sisters Marguerite Moran and Catherine Capone.
