John Fromm Obituary

   Ret. Lt. Col. John E. Fromm, 78, Watertown passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.

   John was born in Milwaukee, WI July 3, 1946, son of John and Agnes (Horvath) Fromm. He was a 1964 graduate of Marquette High School, Milwaukee and in 1970 received his degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

   John began his career in the US Army on February 1, 1970. He served for 26 years combined active duty and with AGR. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Colonel on October 1, 1996.

   He married Diane L. Pillsbury on August 15, 1992 at Calcium Community Church. The couple lived in Columbus, OH before moving to the north country in 2005.

   John was a Roman Catholic. He was a member of the Reserve Officer's Association and Highway Legends. He began his love of cars at age 8, helping his father at his full service gas station and service center in Milwaukee. John was a true Ohio State Buckeye fan.

   He is survived by his wife, Diane L. Fromm, Watertown; Diane's brother, Daniel (Cathy) Pillsbury, Albany; sister-in-law, Betty Pillsbury, Middleburgh, NY; two brothers, Frederick (Charlene) Fromm, Boca Raton, FL and Ronald (Cheri) Fromm, St Louis, MO; sister, Marie Keyes, St. Louis, MO; three children, Nichole Fromm and her husband JonMichael Rasmus, Madison, WI, Samantha Haddow, Minneapolis, MN, and Douglas Fromm, Milwaukee, WI; his adored granddaughter, Dahlia Rasmus; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

   His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Watertown followed by burial in Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium with military honors.
