Jeffery A. Marra, 49, Lane Rd., Watertown, passed away Friday evening, November 2, 2012, at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, on Tuesday, November 6, 2 - 4PM and 7 - 9PM. On Wednesday, November 7, at 1PM the funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Richard Kennedy, MSC officiating. Burial will take place in Grindstone Island Cemetery, town of Clayton at the convenience of the family.
Jeff was born in Watertown on January 21, 1963, son of Philip A. and Yuvon Slate Marra. He graduated from Immaculate Heart Central School and from Jefferson Community College.
On May 27, 1989 he married Deanna L. Boulton at St. Patrick's Church.
He had worked for Helms-Byrns Transportation, Ryder/PIE Nationwide, and Consolidated Freightways, all in Watertown. For the last 25 years, he worked for Teal's Express, Watertown and was the national sales manager at the time of his death.
He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. He was a member and past vice president of the Italian-American Civic Assoc., Chairman of the Dodge Memorial Community Center on Grindstone Island, and president of the Watertown American Little League, Inc. Jeffery had a great love for his wife and the pride that his three sons had bestowed on him. He desired to maintain family traditions and loved the freedoms that Grindstone Island allowed him and his family.
Besides his wife, Deanna L., and his parents, Philip and Yuvon, of Watertown, Jeff is survived by his three sons, Jeffery J., Matthew P., and Michael L. Marra, all of Watertown; his brother and his wife, John H. and Nancy A. Marra, Brownville; his sister and her husband, Debra and Stephen Donaldson, Gananoque, Ontario; mother-in-law, Sandra Reese, Adams Center; father-in-law and his wife, Lawrence and Sandra Boulton, Kernersville, NC; sister-in-law and her husband, Kimberly and Allen Youngman, Wolcott; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
