Janet Agnes Knill

Janet (Jane) Agnes Knill, 81, of Clayton, New York, and formerly of Potsdam, New York, Paradise Valley, Arizona, and Toronto, Ontario, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

Jane will be missed very much by her loving husband of 59 years, Bruce, and their children, Joanna (Richard), Fiona (Steven), John (Susan), Michael, Sarah (Tim), and Mark (Sara) and her beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Andrew, Nicole, Jessica, Katy, Colleen, Jack, Mary Kate, Sarah, Allie, Bruce, Claire, Emily, Janet, Megan, Diana, and Thomas. Jane is predeceased by her brother, Terry, survived by her sister, Bobs (Geoff), and her sister-in-law, Sue and their children.

Jane loved her life in the community of Clayton and the many friends she made in her church. She made a wonderful home where family met and her well-tended gardens were home to a variety of birds. Family gatherings at Clover Rise were her specialty. She loved to see her children and grandchildren together.

Our family sincerely thanks Kim Brown and Susan Heneka for the home care they provided. This care allowed Jane to spend much of her last years in her beloved home. We are also very grateful to Dr. Rory Sears and the staff in the ICU at Samaritan Medical Center for their compassionate care.

Calling hours will be Saturday, December 14, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton from 9 - 11AM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Arthur LaBaff officiating with burial following at St. Mary's Cemetery.
