James Patrick Hayden, 86, formerly of Albany passed away Tuesday evening, April 14, 2015, at Samaritan Keep Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 17, at noon at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor, presiding followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are entrusted to Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.
Jim was born in Watertown on October 31, 1928, the son of James W. and Anna Clifford Hayden. He attended Holy Family Church, graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy, and received his BA from Niagara University.
He was an account examiner for NYS Dept. of Labor in Albany. He was a former member of both Holy Family Church, Watertown and Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Albany and enjoyed traveling the world. While in the Albany area, he spent many years with a singing group entertaining the elderly shut-ins and at nursing homes. Five years ago he returned to Watertown to spend time with his sister and her family, never missing a family event over the years.
He is survived by his sister and her husband, Mary Jean and Keith Robbins, Watertown, four nieces, two nephews and many close friends in Albany.
