H. Cipullo Obituary

H. Elizabeth "Betty" Cipullo, of Clayton, passed away Wednesday evening, October 24, 2012, at Samaritan Keep Home.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Monday, October 29, from 5 - 7PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on Tuesday, October 30, at 1PM with Rev. David DeLuca, MSC, officiating with burial folowing in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Betty was born in Clayton on October 9, 1921, daughter of James S. and Marguerite H. Moran Marshall. She graduated Valedictorian from St. Mary's High School in 1938 and then from the Watertown School of Commerce. She also studied at the Crane School of Music. Betty did secretarial work at Pine Camp for a few years. She then worked at Ellis Drug Store, Consaul Grocery, and with her husband, Charles, at Cipullo's IGA, all in Clayton.

On August 16, 1943 she married Charles A. Cipullo at St. Mary's Church with Rev. George E. Racette officiating. Mr. Cipullo died on January 5, 2008.

Mrs. Cipullo was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, had been the church's organist for many years, and had played many weddings and funerals. She also had taught religious education and was a member and Mother of the Year of the St. Anne's Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member of the River Bell Ringers and enjoyed playing the piano.

She is survived by her four sons, Joseph C and Charlotte W., Matthew G. and Louise "Squirt", John T. and Angela V., and Anthony J. Cipullo and companion, Bridget Dombrowski Wright, all of Clayton; her two daughters, Mary C. Lindsay and Shelia A. and Hodges J. Glenn, all of Clayton; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her six brothers, Francis L., J. Milton, John L., Patrick F., L. A. "Wren", and William R. Marshall, and her two sisters, Stacia Johnson and Marguerite Mason, all died before her.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations in her name to St. Mary's Church, 531 James St., Clayton, NY 13624.
