Gregg J. Ellinger

  Gregg J. Ellinger, 75, died peacefully at the Hospice Residence of Jefferson County on April 21, 2024.  Born on August 4, 1948 in Rome, N.Y., the son of Richard E. and Estelle E. Ewanyk Ellinger. He graduated from Oriskany Central School in 1966, and married Antonette J. Gagliardo on August 8, 1970 in Clay, N.Y.  Gregg went on to a career as an IT professional, and he retired from New York Airbrake as a Senior System Analyst in 2011.

   Gregg is survived by his wife Toni Ellinger, Sackets Harbor; his daughter Carolyn Ellinger, Rochester, N.Y.; 2 aunts; 1 nephew, Richard Ellinger, California; and numerous cousins including James Ellinger, Sackets Harbor. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard W. Ellinger.

   He was a member of the Sackets Harbor Sons of the American Legion Post-1757, an avid golfer, a member of the Bedford Creek Golf Club, where he had held the title of Senior Club Champion. Gregg also enjoyed hunting, fishing and had an appreciation of nature. 

   There will be no calling hours, with a Celebration of Life to be held at the convenience of the family at a time and place to be announced.
