Gerald F. Wiley

   Gerald F. Wiley, 102, passed away peacefully at his home in Watertown Saturday evening, December 14, 2024.

   Gerald was born in Watertown November 13, 1922, son of Raymond P. and Mary McManaman Wiley and he was a 1940 graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy. On February 23, 1952 he married the love of his life Elaine A. Hooper at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Elaine, his wife for over 70 years, died October 22, 2022.

   Gerald was an accountant first for NY Airbrake, then accountant and treasurer for Car Freshner, retiring after 35 years of service to the company. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a love of local and Adirondack history and classical music and enjoyed bowling.

   He is survived by his six children, Gerald M. "Jerry" Wiley, Albany, James S. Wiley and wife Elizabeth Forshaw, Watertown, Joseph F. Wiley and partner Theresa Woods, Watertown, Phillip Wiley, Waterloo, Cecilia M. Augustus and husband Marc, Geneva, and Christina M. Phinney and husband Randy, Grant, MI; daughter-in-law (Greg's wife) Christine M. Tillman, Theresa;14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his wife, Elaine, Gerald was predeceased by his son Gregory J. Wiley and two sisters Catherine E. Bauter and Mary Patricia McRae.

   His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 20, at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery.
