Gerald Scully Obituary

Gerald W. Scully, 81, Milford, CT, formerly of Hamden, CT, passed away March 3, 2015.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Church, Merwin Ave., Milford, CT on Friday March 13th at 11am. There will be no calling hours. A mass at St. Mary's Church, Clayton will be announced and arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton, NY.

Gerald was born in Watertown, NY on July 16, 1933, son of Earl G. and Dorothy H. Barrett Scully. He graduated from Watertown High School and attended a college in Canton, NY. He served in the US Air Force from 1953 - 1957, during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged as an Airman 1st Class.

On August 16, 1958 he married Mary Therese O'Riley at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Watertown, NY.

He was a construction supervisor for Purcell Associates, Glastonbury, CT for sixteen years, retiring in 1995. He supervised many major projects throughout Connecticut, including; the new athletic facilities at the University of Connecticut campus, and the Lordship Seawall in Stratford.

His hobbies included; Amateur radio, fishing, and yearly camping trips with family.

He was a member of American Legions in Watertown and Clayton, NY, Hamden and Milford, CT and Zephyrhills, FL.

Besides his wife, M. Therese, he is survived by his four children, Michael J., Daniel P. and wife Jeanne, Sandra G. Barna, and Gerald E. and wife Sharyn, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. His parents and brother, Edward W., died before him.
