George L. Biber, 89, Watertown passed away Monday morning, July 22, 2024, at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.
George was born in Budapest, Hungary June 17, 1935, son of George and Christina (Smith) Biber. He graduated high school and a 2 year college in Hungary before emigrating to the United States in 1956. A marriage ended in divorce.
He worked 22 years on Ft. Drum and retired as the meat supervisor at the Commissary. He was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church and faithfully attended St. Anthony's Church. George was a 4th Degree member of Bishop Conroy General Assembly Knights of Columbus and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 259. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge 496. Everyone knew that his granddaughter and great grandson were his world.
George is survived by his son and his wife, George S. and Pennie Biber, Watertown; granddaughter and her husband, Tashua and Victor Natali, Clayton; great grandson, Eli Natali; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters.
As per his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown and online condolences to George's family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 320 W. Lynde St. or St. Anthony's Church, 850 Arsenal St., both in Watertown, NY 13601.
