Florence Fetterman Obituary

Florence May Fetterman, 95, formerly of State St., Watertown, passed away Saturday morning, January 11, 2014, at Samaritan Keep Home.

A funeral service and burial at Brookside Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.

Flo was born in Plainfield, NJ on October 15, 1918, daughter of Clarence and Anna Carpenter Hodge. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1937 and completed a two year course at Rochester Business Institute in 1937.

A marriage to Warren Cadwell, Sr. ended in divorce. She married Richard Singleton and he died February 4, 1964, Martin Maurer, Jr. and he died January 27, 1973, and Marvin Fetterman and he died February 1, 1998.

During the '40's she worked as a waitress at Cold Creek Inn, Black River Valley Club, and the Crystal Restaurant. In 1951 she began her career with the City of Watertown in the auditors office and retired in 1976 after 26 years. After her retirement she worked as a desk clerk at the New Parrott Motel for 14 years until 1994.

She had been a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 61 Auxiliary, and both the Watertown and Willowbrook Golf Clubs.

Flo is survived by her son and his wife, Warren and Sharon Cadwell, Jr., Watertown; two grandchildren, Kimberly Cadwell, Manlius and Eric Cadwell, Watertown; two great grandchildren, Morgan and Ryan Cadwell, both of Watertown; sister, Marguerite Storey, FL; and sister-in-law, Madeline Hodge, Clayton. Her brother, Merton Hodge, died before her.
