Ernest P. Loveland, Jr., 82, formerly of Clayton, and of Gulfport, FL died March 20, 2015. Services were at the convenience of the family with burial in Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL.
Ernie was born in 1932 in Clayton, son of Ernest P. and Bertha A. Sullivan Loveland and he graduated from St. Mary's School, Clayton. He married Kathryn Carpenter in 1963 at St. Mary's Church, Clayton.
He served in the US Air Force for 22 years having been stationed in Germany and Vietnam as a medic. After he retired from the Air Force, he worked for the Florida Department of Transportation and retired from there with 20 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 125 in Florida.
Along with his wife, Kathryn, Ernie is survived by his two sons, Joseph M. and James M. Loveland, both of Gulfport, FL, sister, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Natali, Clayton, sister-in-law, Geraldine Carpenter, Clayton, brother-in-law, Elmer Gamble, Alexandria Bay, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by four sisters, Margaret Moore, Rita Good, Lucy Swart, and Katherine Cupernall.
