Eric J. Nash

   Eric J. Nash, 75, passed away at his home in Clayton Tuesday morning, December 17, 2024.

   Eric was born in Binghamton May 8, 1949, son of Donald T. and Betty (Downing) Nash. He was a graduate of Chenango Valley High School, Binghamton and he received his bachelors and then masters degrees from Clarkson University in Mechanical Engineering in 1972.

   On June 24, 1972 he married Dede Rose at Christ Church, Binghamton.

   Eric retired from Carrier Corp., Syracuse in 1998 as a Mechanical Engineer after 26 years of service to the company. He enjoyed gardening, restoring wood boats, and riding around the River in his old wooden boat. He will be remembered by anyone who needed anything fixed, as he would be right there with his tool box to get it done.

   Eric is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dede; son Jay D. Nash and wife Rebecca, Hartland, VT; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Wilson Nash; sister Carol Demeli and husband Tony, Goffstown, NH; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bob Rose and wife Sandy, Endwell, and Marilyn Hutchinson and husband Alan, Clayton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

   A celebration of Eric's life will take place at his home in the summer of 2025. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton and online condolences to his family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
