Edward Lee Barlow, 79, of Clayton passed away Sunday morning, April 7, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Ed was born in Alexandria Bay October 26, 1944, son of William L. and Laura H. (Hoppel) Barlow. He was a graduate of Clayton High School and attended state colleges in Geneseo and Watertown.
He was a field trained archeologist in California. Ed was a commercial fisherman for 30 years on the Pacific Ocean out of the San Francisco Bay area. While there he built his boat, Dam Yankee, in 1973. After moving back to New York he was a member of the Organization of Dissenting Students in Rochester. He enjoyed writing and politics.
Ed is survived by four nieces and nephews, Steven D. and Carol Ann Badour, Donald S. and Debbie Badour, Susan B. and Rexal Ellsworth, and Michael J. and Jean Badour; nephew-in-law Leslie E. Drake; and cousins. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joyce G. Badour and niece Lou Anne Drake.
A graveside service will be held in St. Lawrence Cemetery, town of Cape Vincent, at a time and date to be announced.
