Dennis M. Farrell, 82, town of Cape Vincent passed away at his home Wednesday, March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born June 2, 1943 in Rochester, son of Merton E. and Bertha A. (Denny) Farrell. The family moved to the Clayton area and he attended Clayton schools. He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963. On February 8, 1964 he married Susan A. Hughes at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Leo Wiley officiating.
He worked in the garage of Kittle Motors, Clayton and was a machine operator at NY Air Brake, Watertown. From 1969 to June 1988, he owned and operated the Farrell family dairy farm at St. Lawrence 4 Corners, town of Cape Vincent. He then was the caretaker of McClain Lodge on Grindstone Island for 18 years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 350, Chaumont Masons, and the Clayton Lions Club. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors, clearing trees, and cutting wood.
Along with his wife Susan, Dennis is survived by his son, Brian Keith Farrell and Valarie Kritzer and daughter, Tanya Renee (James G.) Irvin, all of the town of Cape Vincent; four grandchildren, Jonathan, James, Brittney, and Michael; four great grandchildren; brother Bruce M. Farrell, Watertown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert M. Farrell and wife Margaret.
A celebration of his life will be at a time and date to be announced.
