David BonDurant Obituary

David M. "Super Dave" BonDurant, 49, Central St., Watertown, passed away Monday morning, October 15, 2012, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, on Wednesday, October 17, from 5 - 8PM. His funeral will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Thursday, October 18, at 10AM with Rev. Steven Murray officiating.

David was born in Bay Shore, Long Island on January 11, 1963, son of the late Stephen and Barbara Nicholas BonDurant. He graduated from Indian River High School. On September 8, 1984 he married Lisa Alteri in Watertown with Judge Maphey officiating.

On October 16, 1984 he entered the US Navy and its 3 year Nuclear Power Program, serving as a Nuclear Reactor Operator on submarines. He received the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medals, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Strategic Deterrent Patrol Pin with Silver Star, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. On September 13, 1991 he was honorably discharged.

After his discharge he began working for Lyonsdale Bio Mass, a wood burning power plant, in Lyons Falls. He retired after 21 years as the plant manager. David considered everyone in Lyonsdale as part of his family.

David was a devoted and loving father and husband, and besides his wife, Lisa, he is survived by his daughter, Erika K. BonDurant, Watertown, son, Joel D. BonDurant, Liverpool and his daughter, Abigail A. BonDurant, at home; his brother and his wife, Stephan and Lynn BonDurant, Macedon; his sister, Amy L. BonDurant, Gaithersburg, MD; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Kay Alteri, Watertown; his sister-in-law, Amy Alteri, Watertown; 4 aunts, 4 uncles, 3 nephews, and 8 cousins.
