Bonnie L. Keech, 85, of Watertown passed away peacefully in her sleep at Samaritan Medical Center Sunday morning, October 19, 2025.
Bonnie was born July 28, 1940 in Bainbridge at the family home, daughter of John P. and Elizabeth (Cummings) Shackleton. She spent her youth in Treadwell. A marriage to Donald A. Ogborn ended in divorce.
She moved to Watertown in 1972 where she met her husband, Richard J. Keech. They blended their families together and moved to Florida. Bonnie worked as a health care aide until they opened and operated Dickie Do's Bar and Grill in Debary, FL. The sign on the front door read, "There are no strangers here, just friends you haven't met yet". They kept the bar open on Thanksgiving and Christmas and made holiday meals so folks wouldn't be alone on the holidays. She did a toy drive every year and donated them to Toys For Tots, so children would have a good Christmas.
After three hurricanes in 2004, they said "Nope!", sold everything, and moved back to Watertown. She worked as a home health aide for the elderly until she was unable to, at 72 years old.
Bonnie lived a long and full life, on her terms. She enjoyed roaming flea markets and garage sales and camping with Dick. She was everything to so many people.
Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Daniel Ogborn, Pillar Point and Dale (Patricia Taylor) Ogborn, Watertown; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 6 step children and their kids and their kids, too; sister, Betty Hall, Cooperstown; two sisters-in-law, Jetta and Joan Shackleton, both of Treadwell; her super loyal loving dog, Missy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Dick, August 14, 2023; her oldest son, Donald Ogborn, Jr.; and her two brothers, Raymond and William Shackleton.
There will be a celebration of Bonnie's life in the spring for family and friends, to share good food, stories, laughter, and tears. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown and online condolences to her family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
Fly high, Bonnie, and we'll see you on the other side!
