Bernard J. Beck, 83, Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Samaritan Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton at 9AM on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Beck was born in Three Mile Bay on March 9, 1930, son of Donald P. and Elizabeth C. Murphy Beck and graduated from Watertown High School.
On February 1, 1950 he entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged on January 10, 1953.
On January 20, 1954 he married Beth M. Tinney in Edwards and she died April 17, 2003.
Bernie worked for various construction companies throughout the north country, including Purcell Construction Corp. He was Catholic and an avid reader.
He is survived by his six daughters, Sue and Robert Beuerlein, The Woodlands, TX, Nancy Jean and Jeff Munson, Butler, WI, Mary Elizabeth and K. C. Hooks, Allen, TX, Annette and Marcus Alberghini, Fairfield, PA, Carol and Kevin Bennett, Allen, TX, and Cheryl Winters, Allen, TX; ten grandchildren; brother, Francis and Geraldine Beck, Prospect, KY; one sister, Phyllis Oddi, Watertown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His sister, Lois McKnight, died April 19, 2014.
