Barbara A. Davis Paddock, 79, Watertown passed away Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024, at Samaritan Keep Home.
Barbara was born in Depauville November 5, 1944, daughter of Howard D. Davis Sr. and Anna M. (Pollic) Davis and she graduated from Clayton High School. A marriage to Walter R. Paddock ended in divorce.
She was a stenographer at Nine Mile Point and an administrative assistant at Mercy Hospital, working for the CEO. She had been a legal secretary for several law firms in Watertown and a legal assistant working with Legal Counsel for the U. S. Corps of Engineers on Ft. Drum. Barbara retired as an Administrative Assistant for National Grid. She also was a Notary Public. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of Elks Lodge 496. She enjoyed sewing, making intricate antique doll clothing, and cooking and baking. She was an animal lover, loved watching her birds at her feeders, and gardening and flowers. Barbara was very family oriented and spent countless hours researching her family tree.
She is survived by her daughter Lesley J. Bellavia and husband Alan M., Clayton; son Andy C. Paddock, Evans Mills; three grandchildren, Christopher Thompson and Samantha and Ty Paddock; brother Howard D. Davis, Jr. and wife Shirley, Lowville; sister-in-law Laurie Davis, Dexter; and two nieces, several nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brother Robert J. Davis and her sister Marion E. Ingerson.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 3, at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Church followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown and online condolences to her family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
