Arthur R. Gamble, 93, passed away at his home in Clayton Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2025.
Art was born in Seeley's Bay, Ontario, Canada April 15, 1932, son of Cecil and Sarah (Sly) Gamble. The family moved to the Clayton area, where he attended school on Grindstone Island and graduated from Clayton High School in 1949.
On October 11, 1951 he married Barbara A. O'Brien and she passed on July 14, 2010.
Art worked for NY Airbrake. For 25 years he was a union representative and retired as a Directing Business Representative for several union shops in NNY after 42 years of service to the company. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, but most of all helping his family and friends.
He is survived by his three children, Ronald P. (Diane) Gamble, TX, Robin M. (Dennis) Sisler, Clayton, and Arthur R. (Sharon) Gamble, Jr., Clayton; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents and wife, Art was predeceased by one grandson; two brothers, Donald and Elmer Gamble; and sister Evelyn Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clayton on Saturday, June 7, at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton and online condolences to Art's family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
