Allen C. Briggs, Jr.

Allen C. Briggs, Jr., 62, passed away at his home in Chaumont on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Allen was born in Syracuse on March 27, 1961, son of Allen C. and Caleen Ruth (Carpenter) Briggs. He was a graduate of George Jr. Republic, Dryden, and received his Masters of Science in Psychology from SUNY Oswego.

Allen entered the US Army on October 30, 1978. He received the Army Service Medal and was honorably discharged on September 9, 1981. He enjoyed being a self-employed construction worker. Allen loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, and working with his hands. He was an avid journalist and cat lover.

He is survived by his son, Connor J. Briggs, Clayton; daughter, Ruth C. Briggs, Clayton; and the mother of his children, Meredith Zeigler, Clayton. His parents predeceased him.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, June 8, at 11:00 AM in Clayton Cemetery.
