Adam L. Powell, 58, passed away at his home in Theresa Tuesday morning, November 12, 2024.
Adam was born in Watertown July 1, 1966, son of Charles L. and Judy A. (Cummings) Powell. He was a 1984 graduate of Watertown High School and attended art school. He had worked for F. X. Caprara in Watertown for many years and had many loyal customers.
He was raised Catholic. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, boating, and decorating his yard for the holidays His Bloody Good Times Halloween party was legendary. Adam also enjoyed playing cards, darts, and cornhole and watching the Redskins and the Yankees. He had a passion for playing the drums, listening to music, especially metal and rock, and attending concerts. And many are graced with his painted rocks etc., as he was a very talented artist. He liked to paint pumpkins for his family.
Adam is survived by his longtime companion, Krystin V. Chambers and son, Hunter C. Powell, both of Theresa; three siblings, Amy Powell Wise, Port Orange, FL, Gregg (Debi) Powell, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Audra Powell Brouse, Watertown; Krystin's mother, Susan K. Chambers, Theresa; one aunt, one uncle, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Adam was predeceased by his parents; maternal grandparents, Charles and Lena Cummings; fraternal grandmother, Marion Powell; and Krystin's father, Bruce L. Chambers.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 214 Sterling St., Watertown on Monday, November 18, from 3 - 6 PM. This will be followed by a celebration of Adam's life at the VFW, 231 Bellew Ave., Watertown. Online condolences to his family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local American Heart Association.
