My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Bert was my mother's best friend during their time together at Summitt Village. They spent many happy hours dining together, going to bingo together and attending musical performances together. Our family was so glad that mom had someone to "do" things with. I enjoyed your mom so much. Meticulous, even at Summitt, she kept her hair styled, her clothes matched and her nails polished. She even got our mom into the nail habit. I enjoyed hearing Bert yell out from the audience "play ring of fire by Johnny Cash" and after she heard her favorite, she'd yell out "play he stopped loving her today by George Jones", my mom's favorite.
Even though her three sons were older adults she never stopped worrying about them and looked forward to any time they could visit, even if only for a little while. She always enjoyed getting the baked goldfish for a snack. Your mom was a great person. I miss her too.
