Sabina V. Gonzales, 100, Hobe Sound, FL and summering in Clayton, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Friday, April 19, from 5 - 7PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Clayton on Saturday, April 20, at 9AM with Msgr. James Lutz officiating and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mrs. Gonzales was born in Kellogg, MN on May 26, 1912, daughter of Louis N. and Ellen Tierney Thunnell and she graduated from high school in North Dakota. She married Francisco Gonzales in Minneapolis, MN and he died in 1970.
She was a housewife and a communicant of both St. Mary's Church in Clayton and St. Christopher's Church in Hobe Sound, FL.
She is survived by her son, Capt. John R. Gonzales, Hobe Sound, FL and Clayton; grandson, John F. Gonzales, St. James, NY; two great granddaughters, Katherine and Emma Gonzales, both in St. James, NY; niece, Patricia Jacobsen, St. Paul, MN; and nephew, Thomas Thunnell, Edina, MN. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Yater and her brother, Leo Thunnell.
