Eleanor K. KittleEleanor K. Kittle, 91, of Clayton passed away Peacefully Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church with Fr. Arthur J. LaBaff, pastor, presiding followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours and arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Eleanor was born in Rosiere on August 4, 1927, daughter of Elmer J. and Florence Stumpf Reff. She attended St. Mary's Elementary School and graduated from Clayton High School. On June 2, 1948 she married Walter E. "Junior" Kittle, Jr. at St. Mary's Church with Fr. George Racette officiating. Mr. Kittle died on March 14, 1995.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and also was a clerk in the Duty Free store on Wellesley Island. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and enjoyed knitting and working in her yard. She enjoyed cross country skiing and snowmobiling, and traveling to El Paso and San Diego to be with her children and grandchildren. Eleanor was a member of the Clayton Ladies Twilight Golf League. In 1968 she was a member of the first place team, in 1972 she had the low season average, and on August 15, 2000 she had a hole in one on the Clayton course.

Eleanor was a kind neighbor to all and lived in the same house for 65 years. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the neighbors, friends and caregivers who helped immensely throughout her illness. Also to the doctor, nurses and staff at River Hospital who treated her with compassion during her last hours.

Eleanor is survived by her three children, Walter E. Kittle III, El Paso, TX and Clayton, and Nancy A. Frahm and Scott A. Kittle, both of San Diego, CA; her two grandchildren and their spouses, Adam M. and Cidney Frahm, and Lauren M. and Patrick Esguerra; her great-granddaughter, Parker Esguerra; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Cortland A. "Corty" Reff, June 27, 2009.
