Mildred May 'Millie' Patterson

Mildred May "Millie" Patterson, 86, of Clayton passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.

Calling hours will be held at River Community Church on Friday, May 17, from 1 - 3 PM with the funeral service at 3 PM. Burial in Clayton Cemetery will be at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Millie was born in Champion on June 26, 1932, daughter of Sherry and Luva Tousant Card and raised by her stepmother, Lula Reese Card. She graduated from LaFargeville Central School. On March 13, 1955 she married Douglas V. Patterson at the LaFargeville Methodist Church with the Revs. Robert Malabar and Clayton Stoddard co-officiating.

She had worked as a beautician, waitress at various restaurants in the Clayton area, and was a manager at both Birch Haven Campgrounds and Fair Winds Lodge. Millie was a life-long member of River Community Church, was Church Clerk and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She also served as the treasurer for the Clayton Council of Churches. She enjoyed ceramics and gardening, especially flower gardening.

Along with her husband, Doug, Millie is survived by her son, Douglas V. Patterson, Jr. and wife, Sabrina, Chaumont, daughter, Candace "Candy" Martilotta and husband, Thomas, Clayton, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Hi Folks, I'm very sorry for your loss, Millie will always be remembered by me as a sweet lady, I'm sorry but I will be unable to come & pay my respects to Millie but as you may be aware because I have been away from work due to Lou Anne's passing but please know that you all are in my prayers. We are so sorry and shocked to hear of Millie's passing. We remember all the good times we had together and how you all, especially Millie, helped us with our kids when they were little and we lived next door. We are still in Florida or we would be there to be with you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
