MaryAnn MonteithMaryAnn Monteith, 81, of Clayton passed away Monday, November 19, 2018, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Wednesday, November 21, from 4 - 7 PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Friday, November 23, at 1:15 PM followed by the funeral mass celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 2 PM with Rev. Arthur J. LaBaff, pastor, presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

MaryAnn was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on September 7, 1937, daughter of Phillip J. and Rose Bono Nardi. The family moved to Clayton and she graduated from Clayton Central School in 1954.

On May 19, 1956 she married William L. Monteith, Jr. at St. Mary's Church with Rev. George E. Racette officiating. Mr. Monteith died February 17, 2015.

MaryAnn worked at Clayton Locker Plant. She then worked 25 years for McCormick's as a waitress, then an office manager. She then went to work for the Village of Clayton as a deputy clerk and treasurer, retiring on December 3, 1997 after thirteen years with the village. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of American Legion Colon-Couch Post 821 Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed the River and shore dinners at Thurso Bay with her family and friends. Time spent with her family and her dogs, Corky and Nicky, were very precious to her.

MaryAnn is survived by her son, William J. Monteith and wife, Kim, Sims, NC; two daughters, Lorraine M. "Laurie" Monteith and companion, Jack Reff, LaFargeville and Rosanne L. Monteith and companion, Kelly Bragger, Watertown; two grandchildren, Ashlie Monteith and fiancee, Ryan Blanchone, Clayton and Philip William "Nug" Monteith, Watertown; sister, Ann Rose Bennett and husband, Leroy D., Manassas, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to either St. Mary's Church, 521 James St., Clayton, NY 13624 or the Kidney Foundation of CNY, 731 James St., Suite 408, Syracuse, NY 13203 (on the check, write for local use).
