Thomas P. LawrenceThomas P. Lawrence, 76, LaFargeville passed away Saturday morning, October 20, 2018, at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Tuesday, October 23, from 4 - 7 PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 24, at 10:15 AM followed by the funeral mass celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Clayton at 11 AM with Rev. Arthur J. LaBaff, pastor, presiding. Burial will be in Omar Cemetery at 3 PM.

Thomas was born in Watertown on March 6, 1942, son of Edwin A. and Edna Bishop Lawrence. He was a graduate of Cape Vincent High School and attended Cornell University. On October 12, 1963 he married Judith D. Hall at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Rosiere with Rev. Walter Charbonneau officiating.

As a child he worked on area farms and later worked for Frink SnoPlow, Clayton. He then began his career at Crowley Foods in LaFargeville and retired after 41 years of service to the company as a Senior Lab Technician in 2004. He was a communicant of St. John's Church, LaFargeville and St. Mary's Church, Clayton, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 350, Clayton. Thomas was a former member of the LaFargeville Fire Department and Ontario Sanitation through Crowley's. He enjoyed taking trips, yard work, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Along with his wife, Judith, Thomas is survived by his two sons and their wives, Keith T. and Lorie L. Lawrence and their children, Andy and Leanne Lawrence, and Scott M. and Bonnie L. Lawrence and his son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Katheryn Lawrence and his stepsons, Brian and Billy Gokey; two brothers, Larry L. and Billie K. Lawrence, Omar and Edwin J. and Micky P. Lawrence, LaFargeville; two sisters, Grace A. and James Brancato, Oswego and Frances M. and John Seymour, Black River; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, James S. Lawrence, and two sisters, Theresa S. Seymour and Mary E. Bishop.
