Agnes D. Siedlecki GaffneyAgnes D. Siedlecki Gaffney, 94, of Watertown passed away in the emergency room at Samaritan Medical Center on Monday, October 9, 2017.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Friday, October 13, from 5 - 8PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home at 9:15AM on Saturday, October 14, followed by the funeral mass celebrated at 10AM at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor, presiding. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Agnes was born in Deferiet on January 4, 1923, daughter of Joseph and Anna Tunia Siedlecki and she graduated from Carthage High School. On May 29, 1945 she married Ambrose J. Gaffney at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Sullivan officiating. Mr. Gaffney died April 16, 2003.

Mrs. Gaffney worked for NY Telephone Co., then in the maternity ward at Mercy Hospital. She was a secretary for National Cash Register Co., and then for the Watertown City School District in the medical department. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Precious Blood Auxiliary. She was a member of American Legion Post 61 Auxiliary, Home Bureau, and the Watertown Golf Club.

She is survived by her two sons, John J. Gaffney, Watertown and Michael A. Gaffney and wife, Nicole, Discovery Bay, CA; two grandchildren, Kevin and Erin; great granddaughter, Sasha and great grandson, Luke; two sisters, Sue Staab, Carthage, and Helen Piroli, Deferiet; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her five brothers, John, Julius, Alexander, Stanley, and Edward Siedlecki, and sister, Pauline Vars, died before her.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Laura, Cindy, and Nicole, and all the friends who visited in the last few years.
