Marilyn Butler

Marilyn Butler passed away peacefully at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay, NY on Friday, September 29, 2017. She was born June 13, 1927 in Clinton, NY to the late Edmund and Marjorie (Keith) Butler. Marilyn graduated from Utica Free Academy, Class of 1945, and earned her license as a Registered Nurse in 1948. She served as a Registered Nurse for 41 years, having worked 20 years as a maternity nurse at Utica Memorial Hospital and 21 years as a surgical nurse at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Utica. Marilyn was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church, Clinton, NY and also a member of the Clayton, NY Rotary Club and the Clayton Yacht Club.

She leaves brothers, Keith and his wife, Joan of Piney Flats, TN and Myron of Clayton, NY. Marilyn is survived by three nephews, Keith "Larry" and his wife, Terri, Richard, and Robert and his wife, Kathy, and two nieces, Barbara and Sharon. She is also survived by six grand nieces, six grand nephews, one great grand niece and four great grand nephews.

Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton, NY. Marilyn requested there be no calling hours or service. A Celebration of Life will be held in Clayton in the summer of 2018.
