Ruth M. Condon, 95, formerly of Barben Ave. and Ives Hill Retirement Community, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Samaritan Summit Village.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church at 10AM on Tuesday, July 11, with Fr. Leo Wiley presiding and burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.
Ruth was born in Watertown on September 22, 1921, daughter of John H. and Elizabeth B. Fearon Condon. She was a 1939 graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy and the Watertown School of Commerce.
She was employed by Pine Camp and then Ft. Drum, working as a clerk, stenographer, purchasing contractor, and administrative assistant to the engineers. She retired after forty years service in 1988. Ruth was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She volunteered at Mercy Hospital and for community concerts. Her passion was bridge, teaching it and playing throughout North America.
Ruth is survived by her many friends, including Sr. Bernadette Collins, SSJ, Ogdensburg, Paul D. Collins, Schenectady, Christine Pattantyus and husband, Gabor, Poughkeepsie, and Lisa Weldon, Watertown. Her brother, Edward O. Condon, died July 9, 2007.
