Jane W. HuntJane W. Hunt, 84, of Watertown, passed away Friday morning, April 14, 2017, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Services in Brookside Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.

Born May 28, 1932, in Carthage, the daughter of Myron and Marion Stoffel Weir, she was a graduate of Beaver River Central School and Watertown School of Commerce.

She married Edward E. Hunt on Sept. 26, 1953, at St. James' Church, Carthage with Rev. M. J. Deacy, OSA officiating. Mr. Hunt, who worked for the railroad for 42 years, died May 7, 2005.

Mrs. Hunt was a homemaker and also a teacher's assistant for 22 years at Wiley Elementary School. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of the Home Bureau, Odds & Ends, and Red Hat Ladies.

Her enjoyments included crafts, knitting, crocheting, upholstering and refinishing furniture. She also enjoyed backgammon and card games, traveling with her husband, and all of their animals.

Jane is survived by her two children and their spouses, Thomas E. and Susan H. Hunt and Cynthia A. and Patrick Bigelow, all of Watertown; two grandchildren, Kurt Hunt and wife, Kate, OR and Amy E. Hunt, Watertown; two great-grandchildren, Graci Beyer and Harper Jane Hunt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to either Meals on Wheels, 247 Factory St. or SPCA of Jefferson County, 25056 Water St., both in Watertown, NY 13601. Online condolences may be made at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
